This is the topic of our first training event held at Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) on July 9th, 2019 in Heidenau, Germany. Training activities were conducted in combination with the 18-month consortium meeting to promote paper-based electronics on both levels, the education- and the industrial level. A knowledge exchange and a deepening of the understanding of this topic among the partners in the highly interdisciplinary IMPETUS consortium could be enabled. The event was attended by staff scientists and engineers of the IMPETUS partner organizations.
Our program started with fundamentals about the production of chemical pulp, refining and an overview on the paper machine including a guided visit of the PTS pilot plant. The event was complemented by talks about surface treatment and paper for printed electronics. Thus, the lecturers from PTS and Felix Schoeller could exchange their expertise within the highly interdisciplinary IMPETUS consortium.
